In the Ticket Office, I have the privilege to work with many talented volunteers. Let me introduce you to a few of them:
Kathleen (Kathy) Mertes has volunteered for the Weill Center for 14 years. When I asked her why she volunteers she said, “I enjoy meeting and talking with the people who come into the ticket office. Some people are looking for information and others come in to purchase tickets for the great shows that are provided here. The Ticket Office is also a great place to run into old friends.”
Kathy worked for Kohler Co. for more than 29 years and started volunteering at the Weill Center before retiring. Her favorite memory is being back stage for a Broadway play and helping an actor do a quick costume change.
RaeAnn Brunette has volunteered for the Weill Center for 13 years. She likes working in the ticket office because she loves the people she works with and enjoys working with the public.
Her favorite memory is when she sold tickets at the theater in the mid 50’s. She was glad to return to the ticket office after retiring from Sheboygan Transit, where she worked for 23 years.
“I love the beauty of this theater and all the wonderful memories. Those memories will last a lifetime!,” said RaeAnn.
“The ticket office is staffed every single day by volunteers,” said Kimberly Meller, General Manager for the Weill Center. “They are a crucial part of our daily operations. Kathy and RaeAnn help patrons feel welcome and are always ready to share their knowledge of the theater and the Sheboygan area.”
