Sherlock Jr. with the Carthage Wind Orchestra
Experience one of the greatest silent films of all time, Buster Keaton's Sherlock, Jr., with live musical accompaniment by the Carthage College Wind Orchestra--named as one of the top small college bands in the country by the CBDNA. A film projectionist longs to be a detective, and puts his elementary skills to work when he is framed by a rival for stealing his girlfriend's father's pocketwatch. Highly regarded for its remarkable dream sequence, inventive plot, and comic stuntwork, this film 45 minute film packs every second with delight. Complementing the action is the music of Don Gillis, in a score assembled from the composer's many outstanding works for band. Known for his lighthearted compositions, Gillis' works are a delightful background to the action. A short prelude concert by the Wind Orchestra will set the stage for the film presentation.
